paperwhites and letting it f*cking rip

This holiday our nanny gave us a big glass vase with some flower bulbs in it. The only association I have with flower bulbs in vases is my grandparents, maybe even my great grandparents. It felt a little cheesy or old fashioned.

Little did I fucking know.

We put them--they were called Paperwhites--on the desk in our bedroom, facing the ocean and the morning sun. They grew surprisingly fast, like 4-6 inches a day. The green shoots were bright and straight and they quickly showed the beginnings of small bunches of white flowers. My ignorance fell away very quickly, they were absolutely incredible to watch. If we had the gear, it would have been amazing to do a timelapse and watch it’s aliveness expand.

Soon after that, where the ignorance used to be grew an actual feeling of awe. They grew 2 feet high and day after day they exploded with life and elegance and beauty. There were many bunches of bright white flowers extending in every direction. They smelled incredible. Every time I walked into the room I felt my mood and energy palpably shift for the better.

The process of flowering has never been so appreciated.

That is all a very long introduction to a new program I have co-created and will be co-teaching with Cherie Healey.

The program is called TOGETHER, and it’s aim is to provide the tools, community, and permission to be like those bulbs we got for Christmas.

To just let it fucking rip and show the world what you have.

Not out of coercion, or competition, or any other shitty sense, but out of the pure and natural order of who you are.

I have a sense that the paperwhites had just the right conditions they needed to go big, and this program is carefully designed to set the conditions of all of us to flower together. Both Cherie and I have been working with human people for a very long time and we’re putting the best of our heads and hearts and hands together to create a program of immense power and value.

You might feel like you’re on the edge of something new, but just don’t know that the hell that is. Or maybe you do, and it’s scary as hell. The conditions that support us to truly flourish are pretty straightforward, and we’re focusing this program on Connection, Self Awareness, and Well Being.

Here’s a personal example. I’ve been watching my wife flower and grow in this same natural way for the last several years. To witness her give birth and become a mother, to own her truth and give her gifts to the world through her business, and for the mutual fruition of our partnership--it actually gives me the same exact feeling as the flowers. It’s sacred and utterly beautiful.

In my practice I’ve also had the wild fortune to watch hundreds, if not thousands of men dip into the territory of full expression. To me there’s an extra note of beauty because I relate to the specific struggle of expressing myself as a man.
I am particularly excited to be guiding and teaching now in an environment that invites all people into the community. I’ve been hanging out with the dudes my whole life and I’m personally ready to come together.

You are invited, whoever you are. I would love to be in community with you and to help coax out whatever awesome essence you are comprised of.

AND it’ll be fun. In fact, it will probably be really fucking fun.

Let’s come together and show the world what’s possible.
